1. What We Collect

Account info: Name, email, password (hashed), avatar selection, age range
Conversation data: Messages with your AI crew members (used to maintain memory and context)
User content: Notes, journal entries, vault items, prayer requests, budget entries
Device info: Browser type, device type, approximate location (for weather/local features)
Payment info: Processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number.

2. How We Use Your Data

To provide and improve the AI crew member experience
To maintain your crew member's memory of you across sessions
To process payments via Stripe
To send account-related emails (welcome, password reset)
To enforce our Zero Tolerance safety policies
To moderate community features (forums, prayer wall) for safety
To comply with legal obligations and law enforcement requests

3. What We Never Do

We never sell your personal data to third parties
We never display targeted ads based on your conversations
We never share your private data (memories, vault, journal) with other users
We never use your conversations to train external AI models
We never expose your real name or username in community features

4. Community Privacy

In all community features (forums, prayer wall, nearby believers), you appear under an anonymous alias (e.g., "Dude4821"). Your real name, username, email, and all personal contact information are never visible to other users. AI moderation automatically strips any personal information from user-generated content before it's posted.

5. Data Storage & Security

All data encrypted in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest
Hosted on secure cPanel servers with Cloudflare Pro protection
Web Application Firewall (WAF), DDoS protection, OWASP rules active
Bot fight mode and CSAM scanning on all cached images
Database access restricted to authenticated API calls only

6. Children's Privacy

Dude.com requires users to be 14+. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 14. The Family Plan provides parental visibility. All safety features (SOS, Walk Home Safe, Bully Divert) are free for all users regardless of plan.

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymized usage statistics may be retained for service improvement.

8. Your Rights

Access: Request a copy of your data at any time
Correction: Update your information in your Profile
Deletion: Request full account deletion via [email protected]
Export: Export your journal, budget, and notes as CSV from within the app

9. Third-Party Services

We use: Stripe (payments), Firebase (push notifications, real-time sync), Cloudflare (security/CDN), Fish Audio (text-to-speech), Deepgram (speech-to-text). Each has their own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data required for each service to function.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies and localStorage for session management, user preferences, and app functionality. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
