Holy Dude is a Christian AI adviser app, operated at Dude.com (we also own HolyDude.com). Your trust is the whole product. This is written in plain English, not lawyer-speak.

The short version

• We never sell your conversations — not to advertisers, not to anyone.
• Your chats are encrypted — in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (AES-256), so a database leak reveals nothing readable.
• Our staff cannot browse your chats. There is no admin screen that reads your conversations.
• You can delete everything — your chats and your account — anytime.
• No ads. Ever, on any plan.

The one exception: keeping people safe

Holy Dude is built to be safe for families and children, and honesty matters more than a marketing promise. So here is the exact truth:

Because our characters are powered by AI, your messages are processed to generate a reply and are automatically screened for signs of danger. If a message indicates an imminent threat — self-harm or suicide, abuse, or a child in danger — that message may be flagged for human review. We do this because protecting a life comes before privacy. This is the only circumstance in which a person may read a specific message, and it is limited to those safety signals.

We do not, and cannot honestly claim to, offer “end-to-end encryption where no one can ever see anything” — any AI app that says so is not telling you the truth, because the AI must read your message to answer it. What we can promise is everything above: encryption in transit and at rest, no selling, no staff browsing of your chats, deletion on request, and a safety exception that exists only to protect you and your family.

What we collect

• Your account — email, name, and the characters and preferences you choose.
• Your conversations — so your crew can remember you and you can pick up where you left off. Encrypted at rest.
• Basic usage — enough to run quotas, prevent abuse, and keep the service working.

Who processes your messages

To generate replies, messages are sent to the AI providers that power the characters (such as Anthropic and others), under their own data-protection terms. They are not permitted to use your conversations to advertise to you.

Your controls

• Delete your data — wipe your chats or your whole account from settings, anytime.
• Export — take your data with you.
• Contact us — support@dude.com for any privacy request.

Children

Family plans include parental oversight, and the safety screening above applies to every account. If you believe a child is in danger, the flagging system is designed to surface it for review.
